Rishi Sunak is leading an ambitious revolution to improve education. Today, England ranks 11th internationally for maths, compared to 27th in 2009 and 13th for reading and science compared to 25th and 16th respectively in 2009 (OECD). This is sadly not the case in Labour-run Wales and SNP-run Scotland.

Leeds is a centre of excellence for education from its primary schools to universities but more needs to be done to raise standards across the board, especially for SEN pupils. That’s why I support the Government’s plan to create 35 new special free schools for SEN pupils.
